About Me
Angel Melendez is a Creative Services Manager and Multimedia Content Producer based in Chicago, with over 8 years of experience in video production, digital storytelling, and content strategy. A graduate of Columbia College Chicago with a degree in Audio Design and Production, Angel brings expertise in filming, editing, motion graphics, and digital media management.​
Angel has played a key role in numerous high-profile projects. He contributed to the production of over 85 episodes of "This Week in Military History", earning a Chicago/Midwest Regional Emmy nomination in 2021. He also helped produce award-winning virtual tours for the "Allied Race to Victory: Island Hopping in the Pacific Theatre" and "Drawn to Combat: Bill Mauldin & The Art of War" exhibits.​
His extensive television experience includes serving as a producer, sound technician, and camera operator on "Pritzker Military Presents" (2016–2022), where he contributed to 75 episodes. He also produced and provided sound design for the episode "What Is Military History Today?" in 2022, and produced nine episodes of the 2020 TV series "Citizen Soldier".​

As Creative Services Manager at TAWANI Enterprises, Angel worked on the marketing team to film and produce various promotional and educational content including the Mission94 Firearms Education Center's "Education Series" and developed promotional content for TAWANI Property Management amongst other brands.

Angel served in the U.S Army with the 25th Infantry Division as a Paratrooper in the 1-501st Parachute Infantry Regiment deploying to Afghanistan in 2009 during Operation Enduring Freedom. After returning home in 2011, he joined the 1-178th Infantry Regiment and trained in Woodstock, Illinois for several years before separating in 2014. Since than, Angel has been involved in the veteran community in Chicago, working with organization such as "Chicago Veterans", "The Mission Continues", and "Merging Vets and Players" In addition to his work with veteran organizations, Angel continues to freelance, creating impactful content that supports mission-driven initiatives and engages audiences across digital platforms.​

The 2022 Regional EMMY Award Winning virtual tour hosted by WTTW's Geoffrey Baer explores 100+ works and documents that cover Bill Mauldin’s life and work. The tour details everything from Mauldin's early years in New Mexico to his training in Chicago to his WWII works and his career as an editorial cartoonist for the Chicago Sun times as well as other publications after the war.
